Pipes, Chains, and Redirection: an introduction

This session focuses on techniques for piping, chaining, and redirecting your favorite commands in the terminal. Maybe you've wrapped your head around basic commands in the command line, and you've become quite skilled at copy and pasting from ServerFault, but now you want to start building some of those cleaver interactive terminal commands yourself. This session focuses on techniques for manipulating standard input, standard output, and standard error with real world examples that can be applied immediately. This session reviews the construction of command line "grammar" in well built commands and common use-cases to building, testing and experimenting with crafting useful compound commands in the interactive terminal.
